Halloween Dance

Friday, October 23, 2026 – Beach Boppers’ Halloween Dance

The Tampa Bay Beach Boppers didn’t let competition from several events spoil their Halloween fun. No sir, those attending had a howling good time. Yes, it’s true, several members were off at a Nashville dance, some stayed home to watch the Rays in the World Series, some attended the Lightning game, some had lost their calendars, and a few got gobbled up by gobbling goblins.

The evening began with a helpful East Coast Swing dance lesson taught by Sharon and Jim Commerford. Rumor has it next year’s lesson will be the Monster Mash. It’ll be a graveyard smash.

A big shout out to Jean Hope for her charming decorations. The table items were a combination from the Halloween stash of Bobbie Colgan and Jean. With Bobbie out of town, Jean set it up. Excellent job!

Come on! Let’s dance. Don’t be a lazy bone.

The “guess-the-number-of-candies” game was a big hit.

Guess the candies

The Candy Queen.

Congratulations to the 1st and 2nd place winners, Kenny Martz and Juanita Soriano.

They hit the sweet spot by being closest without going over.

Meanwhile back at the welcoming table:

Joyce and Lorraine

‍ ‍Flamingo Fever. Guess what? I ate a candy Recount!

Meanwhile at the local refreshment station:

Leslie

Can I serve you a ghoulish potion?

Instead of the usual 50/50 drawing. President Jim conducted a reverse 50/50 drawing. He compared it to a reverse mortgage, minus the points, and awarded $40 to the winner, Kathleen Duerr.

Not a winner.

No surprise: Not the winning ticket.

Jane the DJ

As usual DJ Jane Harrington kept the tunes rocking throughout the evening.

Next dance is November 6th. See you and your dancing shoes then.
